Vancouver, CANADA, February 3rd, 2015 \u2013 <\/strong>Inca Networks announced today that triple-play telecommunications provider, MLGC, has implemented Inca\u2019s IP video suite to bring superior digital TV services to rural North Dakota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLGC has deployed Inca\u2019s ASI to IP convertors, 8VSB off-air receivers, satellite MPTS demuxers and IP transcoder products, which positions the company \u2013 currently a cable TV operator that also offers telephone and broadband services as the incumbent telephone operator \u2013 to be able to offer multiscreen services in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to 2011, MLGC\u2019s video delivery service had been geographically restricted by outdated analog cable TV infrastructure, operating as independent systems in various towns. The forward-thinking telco used stimulus funding to deploy a modern 10 Gigabit fiber optic network in their rural service areas, connecting all the towns they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To leverage this upgrade, MLGC sought out a cost-effective IP video processing and transcoding solution that would allow the independent telco to deliver digital cable TV services from one master facility to all of its customers in remote communities. The Inca solution enabled MLGC to provide premium digital TV and music offerings to its full service area, while expanding from 36 to 150 channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLGC uses Inca MPEG-4 HD transcoders to affordably optimize the format, resolution, and bit rate of HD and SD satellite and off-air sources and deliver them to the five communities they serve. Inca video reception equipment also receives, demultiplexes, and processes the local HD and SD off-air broadcast channels. With a modern IP video centric headend now in place, the North Dakota CLEC is ideally positioned to add multiscreen services in the future. Video is a low margin business, so finding high quality, affordable and future proof solutions is key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
