Vancouver, CANADA, November 19th, 2014 – Inca Networks announced today that Dedalus Ltd. has selected Inca’s Intelligent Video Delivery solution™ and associated MPEG encoders to process, monitor and deliver digital TV service to guests at Casino Dreams, the on-site casino at Hotel Dreams Punta Arenas, Chile. After an earthquake destroyed the casino’s encoders, Dedalus was charged with finding a reliable, stable and cost-effective IPTV solution to deliver a superior video experience. Considered to be the southernmost city on the planet, the unique remote location meant reliability and support were key—so Dedalus turned to Inca.
“With Inca IP video deployments operating in more than 20 countries, Inca Networks has always prided itself on delivering state-of-the-art, carrier grade video solutions in challenging and unique environments. We are pleased to add Dedalus and Casino Dreams to the long list of global clients using Inca solutions to deliver reliable IPTV service in demanding networks and locations,” says Jeff Campbell, CEO of Inca Networks.
“The Inca equipment delivers improved stability, increased cost-effectiveness and much better video quality than the previous vendor’s equipment. Casino Dreams is very happy with the solution and their guests are thrilled with the enhanced picture quality,” says Alejandro Delannoy, Software Engineer at Dedalus Ltd.
Inca has provided Casino Dreams with Inca Encoder and Receiver units to receive signals from the local cable TV operator, encode them to IP single program transport streams (SPTS) and deliver clear, consistent TV channels across their in-house resort network.
The ease of use of the video delivery equipment was key to Casino Dreams. With Inca encoders, the resort has been able to streamline the configuration and operation of the equipment making it an ideal solution for the casino IT operators.
“I was impressed at how intuitive and advanced Inca’s interface is—configuring the system was a simple and efficient process. My client is very satisfied with how easy the system is to operate and manage day-to-day,” says Delannoy.
One of the key factors in Dedalus choosing Inca for Casino Dreams was Inca’s VidiOS™, which provides advanced processing and monitoring and all the information required to monitor and manage their video network. VidiOS™ allows operators to view thumbnails and detailed analytics of all the channels, which is invaluable for troubleshooting and keeping hotel resort guests satisfied.
“With other vendors, you need to purchase external equipment to monitor video streams. The fact that this monitoring and analytics feature is embedded in all Inca equipment was key to meeting our client’s needs,” adds Delannoy.
Deployed globally in digital cable, telco DSL/FTTH IPTV and private island resort networks, feature-rich Inca solutions are ideal for installation in locations where high quality, self-sufficient, reliable and consistent digital video service is required.
