Vancouver, CANADA, December 2nd, 2014 – Inca Networks announced today that CCA Limited (CCA) has built and launched HD IPTV service to exclusive private resorts on Canouan Island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines—effectively upgrading the properties from traditional cable video service to pure IPTV.

CCA built their IP video service around the Inca MPEG-4 encoder and Inca satellite demuxer products, allowing them to provide state-of-the-art HD TV service for guests and residents of the world-class private island resort located approximately 120 miles east of Barbados. Private home residents and guests at The Carenage Bay Resort and hotel and villa guests at the Tamarind Beach Hotel now enjoy access to superior quality HD video as part of a modern, self-sufficient utility infrastructure.

“While our core business is providing professional IP video infrastructure to larger telcos and cable television companies in North America, we have a long history working with resort and hotel developers to bring the latest HD IPTV systems to luxury hospitality projects around the world,” says Jeff Campbell, CEO of Inca Networks. “With IP video deployments operating in more than 20 countries, Inca prides itself on delivering carrier-grade video solutions in challenging and unique environments. We are pleased to add exclusive resort properties on the island of Canouan to our long list of global clients using Inca solutions to bridge traditional and next-generation services and deliver reliable, high-quality HD and SD video on an Ethernet infrastructure.”

CCA provides cable TV, along with telephone, security and fire alarm systems, as part of the high-end luxury hotel properties on Canouan. CCA receives their signals from a variety of different satellite, off-air and Internet sources; the challenge was to manage the conversion from traditional cable TV to local IPTV. CCA uses Inca’s digital processing equipment to convert and reformat MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 commercial satellite feeds, off-air, and Internet streaming channels to IP streams for use on their MPEG-4 IPTV network.

“Given our remote location, my main concern was being able to access content from a variety of sources to meet the high demands of our international clientele, and to be able to deliver that content as high-quality video to our guests and villa owners. Inca’s video processing equipment is exceptional – head and shoulders above the competitors’ products,” says Mr. Omoro Alleyne, Telecommunications System Supervisor with CCA Limited.

According to Alleyne, one of the greatest benefits of working with Inca comes from the breadth of products and proven real-world experience they offer to help solve any video challenge that may arise. Another advantage has been the deep visibility into each step of the processing chain with VidiOS™, Inca’s advanced processing and monitoring engine. VidiOS™ provides active stream tools and embedded visual status monitoring—helping video engineers manage the headend more efficiently.

“I have spent most of my career in the cable TV industry and Inca’s VidiOS™ is unique in the business. We appreciate being able to manage things remotely and make changes without having to physically touch any equipment,” says Alleyne. “Inca has made my job much easier and the new video platform has been a hit with guests and owners across the island.”

Operating in remote locations such as Canouan Island with limited staff and resources is a challenge and vendor support is critical.

“Support has been excellent. What Inca promises, they actually deliver—every time. And we are able to deliver top-notch picture quality at an affordable price, which is essential for our resort,” says Alleyne.
