For more than nine decades, WISI has been one of the worldwide pioneers in reception and distribution technology. As a system provider in the product areas of CATV technology, reception and distribution technology, mobile communications and high-frequency connectors, we have learned during this time not only to stay at the forefront of technological development, but also to turn visions into new quality products at any time. The converging media, new multimedia offerings and broadband services require intelligent transport paths for their distribution. This is our business. As a developer and technology supplier for the key areas of communications, we are therefore committed to innovation today and in the future.

Your project

A headend processes TV signals that can be received via different paths. These signals can be received via satellite (DVB-S), for example. To process the TV signals, a frequency as well as a symbol rate of a transponder must be set. Each transponder can contain several TV programs, which can then be processed by the headend. The programs can also be encrypted. The task of a headend is, among other things, the decoding of the programs with the help of CAMs (Conditional Access Modules).
The CAMs (Conditional Access Modules) used in the headend to decrypt pay TV programs can receive a firmware update (OTA update) via satellite. In this case, the operator of a TV service can supply the CAMs with new firmware in the field as required. For this purpose, the update process of the CAMs is to be implemented according to ETSI TS102 006. An update signal and test CAMs are available as a test environment for this purpose.
