Within the WISI Group, WISI Automotive GmbH & Co. KG offers its customers many years of expertise in the development, design and manufacturing of antennas, telematics systems and RF accessories in the automotive environment. For the earliest possible date, we would like you to become part of our team in the framework of a thesis (Bachelor or Master) to develop a high-precision dual-band GNSS antenna and carry out the corresponding live signal tests.
For more than 30 years, global satellite navigation systems have been extremely relevant for various areas of modern life. In the future, this relevance will significantly increase, as high-precision positioning will be indispensable, e.g. for autonomous driving, modern agriculture and further applications.
Focal points of the thesis
- Familiarization with the theoretical basis of global navigation systems
- Research on the state of the art of global navigation systems
- Elaboration of a meaningful test catalogue for modern GNSS antennas using various precisioning methods (RTK, SBAS, …) in different situations and scenarios (good view to the sky, partial shadowing e.g. caused by forest and urban canyons)
- Investigation of the influence of different (antenna) parameters on positioning precision
- Further development of an HP GNSS antenna based on four so-called inverted F-antennas
- Optimization of key parameters (KPIs) like efficiency, bandwidth, polarization purity, …
- Evaluation of the passive, active and live signal performance of the resulting antenna
Your profile
- You are a registered student in the field of electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, information technology or similar
- Ideally, you have already been able to gain practical experience through internships or working student activities
- You convince with a structured, reliable and independent way of working
- You like to work independently and are still an absolute team player
- You have very good written and spoken German and English skills and are well-versed in the use of common MS Office applications
We offer
- Exciting tasks that you can actively shape
- We value and promote professional discussion, high quality standards and offer room for new ideas
- We value personal contact and promote an open, performance- and employeeoriented management culture
- A motivated team and a pleasant working atmosphere
